NIGHT BEFORE
Please drink plenty of fluids, but avoid alcohol. Eat a good breakfast on the day of the race, and make sure you start the race fully hydrated as well as fed.

KIT
Modern “Technical” clothing is good and doesn’t have to be expensive. Clothing that “wicks away” moisture will make you feel dry (ish) even if you aren’t. Your shoes will get VERY wet & muddy. Trail shoes with a good grip are ideal, they tend to be a tighter fit than road running shoes, whatever you choose, lace them up tight, check and re-check! If they are sucked off in the mud you’ll probably never see them again.

Strictly no spikes!
There’s enough going on without stabbing your fellow participants.

CHANGE OF CLOTHING
Bring some warm dry clothes to change in to after the event along with a towel. You will be dirty, muddy and smelly at the finish line!  We do have trenches style cold showers to get you cleaned up and a bin liner for your dirty kit.

MERCHANDISE
We have our NEW DESIGN  performance ‘BACK 2 THE TRENCHES’ vests and T-shirts available for purchase on the day (including a supply of the very latest design). Many of our runners purchase these to run in or change into after the event, so we will have a special deal if you wish to purchase 2 or more T-Shirts, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to change into these tops before registration. Please also note that we can only accept cash on the day (£10.00 per vest or t-shirt).

FOOD/DRINKS
There will be tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus Big Boy’s breakfast rolls  along with hot dogs and burgers available throughout the day.

FRIENDS & FAMILY
Encourage them to come along for the spectacle! There will be many vantage points for them to take photographs and shout encouragement.

CHIP TIMING ON THE DAY
If you cannot wait to see your time, you can input your bib number into the mobile timing booth at the finish and get your results instantly.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Professional photographers will be present to record the event, so don’t forget to give a big, muddy SMILE, and pose for the cameras as you go round! We will email you with a link to view and download the images as soon as possible after the event. The Images will be uploaded over the next few weeks as there are lots…… Keep checking back to see what you looked like covered in mud…

SENSE OF HUMOUR
Whether you’re a budding SAS recruit or a fun charity runner, you will need a sense of humour – you will only get out of the event what you put in.

Please give a big thank you as you go round to all our friendly marshals.

WET WEATHER PROGRAM
There isn’t one, we will be here…will you?
