The Orpheus Centre
Orpheus is an independent specialist college in Godstone, Surrey that increases the confidence and skills of young disabled adults through the performing arts. We believe that every young disabled person should have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers. We offer a holistic learning programme, a supported housing scheme and a domiciliary support service.
Orpheus is a registered charity. Although we receive funds from statutory sources, we need to raise over £500,000 each year to continue our life-changing work with young disabled adults.
Your support by fundraising for us when taking part in Back 2 the Trenches could fund assistive equipment in a student’s flat, enabling them to undertake more practical tasks on their own.
St Christopher’s Hospice
St Christopher’s was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders to provide and promote care of the highest quality for dying people.
Our services extend to family and loved ones, both during the illness and in bereavement. Today St Christopher’s cares for over 3,300 dying people each year. We serve an ethnically and socially diverse area of South London, covering Lambeth, Croydon and Bromley.
Our education services benefit healthcare professionals worldwide. It costs over £19 million every year to deliver all our services, of which approximately £13m must be fundraised to continue to deliver our patient and family services free of charge. This balance must be raised from grants, legacies, the generous support of our local community, local businesses, trusts and through our shops.
The Soldiers’ Charity
The Soldiers’ Charity Fundraising Army is growing from strength to strength. People are signing up from across the country to raise vital funds to support soldiers, former soldiers and their families. What are you waiting for? Join up to this elite fundraising force.
Outrank your boss, your mates or you family as you push your limits by taking on one of our challenge events. Rise through our ranks to earn your stripes!
Blesma, The Limbless Veterans helps all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support. Our programmes allow Members and their families to face the challenges ahead with renewed confidence and self-belief.
We work tirelessly for our Members when the conflicts that have affected their lives are no longer a focal point in the nation’s media. Since 1932, we have been the only national Service charity that supports limbless veterans for the duration of their lives. Our Members range from the youngest amputee veterans to those who fought in WWII.
Motor Neurone Disease Association
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
Although there is currently no cure for MND, symptoms can be managed to help you achieve the best possible quality of life.
Sportability, a registered charity, provides sport and challenging events for people with all forms of paralysis, such as spinal cord injury, stroke, M.S etc.. Activities include gliding, sailing, microlight flying, canoeing, quad-biking, archery, clay pigeon shooting, BloKart sailing, water skiing, wheelchair tennis, falconry and more.
The Sportability Experience helps people to rebuild confidence, restore self-esteem and re-assess their capabilities, which carries through to everyday living. It is not just the access to activities, but the social mix, the acceptance and sense of achievement that are empowering.
It is about the adrenaline rush, putting the buzz back into a life corralled by the wheelchair, walking sticks or crutches. Taking the ‘dis’ out of disability!

Fight for Sight
Nearly two million people in the UK live with a visual impairment that affects their everyday lives.
Fight for Sight is the UK’s largest eye research charity and our mission is to stop sight loss in its tracks.
We believe all sight loss is not inevitable. It is only through medical research we will make sight loss a thing of the past. Our research programmes are currently developing ways we can better diagnose, prevent and treat eye conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and childhood blindness. By funding pioneering eye research, we’re creating a future everyone can see.
